Spend five minutes with the employees of Vista Realty and it is clear what sets them apart from other property management businesses and other small businesses in general: loyalty. Of the fourteen employees of Vista Realty, nine have given over twelve years of service to the company. Mary Cash has been running the show as office manager for 19 years.  Angelia Mauldin started as a receptionist in 1990 and today finds herself as the Vice President.  Sharon Hill, a property manager since 1992, is Vista’s fact totum for all other property managers.  She trains them to serve their communities with the same efficiency and compassion she has shown in her own communities for nearly 30 years.  Maricela Castro was hired as a property manager in 2008 and has recently joined Angelia Maudlin as an inhouse broker, representing tenants in their pursuit of homeownership.

Heather attributes Vista’s success to her staff’s loyalty and longevity:

“Our staff and employees are my number one priority.  Clients and tenants are of course important, but without protecting the trustworthiness, compassion, and respectfulness of my staff we couldn’t foster our dedication to customer service and our devotion to community.”

The most valuable lesson Heather has learned in her ten years of leading the company is to delegate responsibilities to those trusted staff members and maintain an open line of communication.  In her view this feeds back into the role of Vista as an advocate for all their clients, tenants and owners alike, “Empowering others and trusting them to make decisions has made this entire team strong and confident.”

Angie Mauldin

Vice President, Broker/REALTOR

Angelia (Angie) Mauldin began at Vista Realty Inc in September of 2000, tasked with handling reception, apartment leasing and providing assistance to current residents.  She quickly realized she had found her passion with real estate, as she loved assisting residents with finding the right property to suit their needs.  In 2011, she decided to expand her expertise to include the sales market by completing the NC Real Estate Broker Course and State Licensing Exam.  After becoming a licensed Broker for NC, she joined the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors where she proudly accepted the 2012 Rookie of the Year Award.  She has enjoyed serving on numerous committees including the Young Professionals Network and Community Service & Outreach, where she took part in community events such as “Tee Off Against Child Abuse” and Habitat for Humanity’s Restore Spaces.  20 years later, she is the Vice President for Vista Realty Inc.  The most rewarding part of job is helping her clients and staff each day.  Having the opportunity to see residents through the process of renting their first apartment, to buying their first home, to finding their forever home. In addition to her career, Angelia loves spending time with her husband, Michael and daughters, Mikayla and MaKenzie.  She enjoys coaching cheer for the North Davidson Jr. Knights, crafting with her daughters and playing with the family dogs.

Assistant Property Manager

Brandie Levy has been with Vista Realty for 15 years as assistant property manager at LaGrande Apartments.  She is an invaluable member of the Vista family, making resident care her top priority. She and her husband raised a beautiful daughter of whom they are incredibly proud. She is a third grade teacher in the WSFCS. Brandie is an animal lover, with a 10 lb chihuahua and a 22 lb cat!  When she’s not working you can find her curled up with her furbabies and a cup of coffee… and probably a donut.

Accounts Payable Specialist

Mandy Bolt serves as Vista’s Accounts Receivable Specialist.  As one of the newest members of the Vista family, Mandy’s favorite thing about her job are the ladies she works with. Mandy spends her downtime with her parents and four best friends whom she considers her soul-sisters.  Her motto is: Shoot for the moon.  Even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.

Maricela Castro Higgins began her career at Vista Realty in 2004 as Property Manager of Cole Village Apartments.  Several years ago, Maricela earned her real estate license.  Now, in addition to serving the residents of Cole Village, she also serves the former tenants and outside community as a real estate Broker.  The best part of her job? “I love interacting with different people every day, I love the trust my residents or buyers place in me whether is to rent or to purchase a home. I love the look in my clients faces when we have accomplished our goal to place them in their homes!” Maricela leads a very active lifestyle with family and friends, and of course, her four 4-pawed kids.  She is a woman of many talents: Maricela has played soccer since she was 6 years old, loves to cook for her loved ones, and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Mary Cash has over 40 years of property management experience. She holds numerous certifications, such as RAM, CAM, CAPS, and in Fair Housing.  She has also worked as an overseer for properties across both Carolinas. In 2000 Mary came to Vista Realty, Inc. Currently as office manager, she handles “it all;” working with our on-site property managers, residents, and our valued property owners. Mary’s is the first face you see when you walk through Vista’s doors.  She serves as an example to everyone she meets to stand tall, learn from your mistakes, and above all, be kind.  She loves to play in her garden and spend time with her husband and family.

Leasing Consultant

Paola serves as a leasing consultant at Cole Village Apartments.  Her favorite part of her job is helping the wonderful tenants of Cole Village.rnrnPaola is also an amazing artist.  She has a loving, creative spirit and cares deeply about the world and how we treat one another.  Devoted to her family, her favorite times are with them hanging out at soccer games or SHOPPING!

Sharon Hill has been part of the Vista family since 1992. Mrs. Hill is certified in NALP by NAA and in Fair Housing.  As senior manager at LaGrande and Stonepoint Apartments, she serves a mentor to other property managers and assists with new employee training. Sharon is immensely proud of her daughter, Eva, who recently graduated from the University of Southern California with an MFA in Animation.  Along with her wonderful husband, Sharon also runs a farm in Germanton, Hill Family Farm.  Look for their canned goods, jams and jellies at local farmer’s markets!

Sales Department

After 40 years it would be easy to focus on what’s already working and stick with property management, but Vista Realty hasn’t been around this long without keeping a close watch for opportunities to come.  The future lies in building relationships with tenants.  Angelia Maudlin shares, “As property managers, we make every effort to ‘hand-show’ our available properties.  We want to be there for tenants from the very beginning of the rental application process to solving work orders and maintenance issues, and then finally as a representative and trusted source in their search for a forever home.”   Heather has assembled a team of knowledgeable and dedicated real estate professionals that are as eager as she to launch this new chapter in the development of an outside sales department at Vista Realty.  With Heather continuing her role as Broker in Charge, Angelia Maudlin, and Maricela Castro, will go beyond representing investors in purchasing rental properties.  They will also be there for tenants in their pursuit of becoming homeowners themselves.
